Vitalia Presents to you… (drumroll please) Jadaquis Smith. Look that’s me! Ahh, I’ve always wanted to be introduced. Okay okay, but anyway, we’re friends, call me Jada.

I have a passion for all things showy: theatre, broadway, movies, music, photography, videography; art in all its forms has a strong pull on my heart strings. I was bitten by the theater bug growing up. One of my proudest moments was attaining the lead in "The Little Matchstick Girl". I played the role as a black girl, while my grandmother in the play was white. The comments I received at the end of the play are what began my desire for showy things. They were impressed with the emotion I drew from the audience when interacting with my grandmother during a specific scene. So much so they didn’t notice the race difference between us.

 

From that moment on I looked for art forms that could ignite a feeling. That’s when I picked up photography. I spent time learning from an amazing mentor the techniques and fundamentals of the perfect lighting, angles, and use of the camera. Then I was set free, and from there I blossomed. With an accumulating 5 years of production experience, and a curious mind later, I’ve been able to find true passion in creating and telling stories through photography.
